Program

Day 1: Arrival. Transfer to the accommodation. Briefing. Dinner.

Day 2: The North: Visit to Mirador del Río, building designed by Cesar Manrique, with great views to La Graciosa Island. Splendid and continually changing landscapes throughout the walk: two coasts, the crater and lavas of La Corona volcanoe and view from the crest of Famara Cliff. The hike ends at the charming village of Haria. Dinner. (4 hours walk)

Day 3: La Graciosa Island: After a short voyage from Órzola in the north of Lanzarote the trek starts out in the charming little port of Caleta del Sebo in La Graciosa. We traverse dunes, lonely beaches and lava fields through a volcanic and coastal vegetation. Swim and pick-nick. Return to Lanzarote. Dinner. (3 h 30’ walk)

Day 4: The Volcanoes: Unique and surprising walk through lava fields and recent but extinct craters providing a large span of shapes and colours. Basalt bombs, cinder, ash and lavas through exhilarating landscapes. Lychens and colonizing plants in extreme conditions. Pick-nick and visits to the Visitors Center of Timanfaya and El Golfo. Dinner. (3 hours walk)

Day 5: Teneguime Valley: Visit to the Cactus Garden. Beautiful walk ascending the Teneguime valley, carved in the old basaltic rock of the Famara Cliffs, where we observe traditional farming and a great variety of endemic plants. Visit to Jameos del Agua, master piece of Cesar Manrique. Dinner. (2 h 30’ walk)

Day 6: Vineyards of La Geria: A trek by the central crest climbing to the old Guardilama Volcano from where we will have a panoramic view of the South and center of Lanzarote. Descent to La Geria where the vines grow on volcanic ash and have to be protected from the wind with a little wall. Pic-nic in a wine cellar. Visit to Teguise, ancient capital of the island and the Foundation of Cesar Manrique. Dinner. (3 h 30’ walk)

Day 7: Los Ajaches & Papagayo beaches: Our walk starts in Femés, little village nestled in the Ajaches mountains. We enjoy great views towards Playa Blanca and the south-east coast while descending to the tiny fishing village of Playa Quemada. Pick-Nick. In the afternoon drive to the southern most point of Lanzarote, the picturesque Papagayo beaches. Swim and Snorkel. Transfer back to Costa Teguise. Dinner. (3 hours walk)

Day 8: Departure: Transfer to the airport. Flight back.
