La Gomera has become the preferred island by travellers. The old volcanism and the erosion have left massive “pitones” of traquitic and basaltic volcanic rocks, winding footpaths and deep precipices separated by large “mesas”. In addition exuberant vegetation in the forests of laurisilva next to more barren plants in the zones protected of the trade winds.

Program

Day 1 – Arrival at Tenerife airport. Transfer to the harbor of Los Cristianos and boat trip to La Gomera. Transfer to the accommodation. Briefing. Dinner.

Day 2 – Vallehermoso: Transfer to Vallehermoso. Ascent in a beautiful valley with changing vegetation. After the Pick-Nick we continue towards the coast and descend to the beach of Vallehermoso. Refreshing bath. Transfer back to San Sebastian. Dinner. (Walk: 5 h 30 min; + 600 mts, – 750 mts)

Day 3 – Valle Gran Rey: Large descent from the highest point of La Gomera (Alto de Garajonay) to the beach of Valle Gran Rey. The first part of the walk crosses part of the famous Laurisilva forest of the National Park, the second descends in the picturesque “Valley of the Big King” scattered with colorful houses and palm trees. Bath. Dinner in Valle Gran Rey. Transfer back to San Sebastian. (Walk: 5 hours; + 200 mts, – 1480 mts)

Day 4 – Agulo: Steep ascent of the Cliff of Agulo, little village in the north of La Gomera island. We continue the ascent to the Visitors Centre of the National Park. After the Pick-Nick we start to descend in the neighboring valley enjoying beautiful views. Visit of Agulo. Transfer back. Dinner. (Walk: 5 hours; +750 mts, – 750 mts)

Day 5 – Garajonay National Park: Unforgettable walk in the Laurisilva forest, declared World Heritage by the UNESCO in 1986. (Walk: 5 h 30 min; + 650 mts, – 650 mts)

Day 6 – El Cabrito: Fantastic hike in the southern part of the island. Starting in Jedurne we descend towards the south coast, crossing deep gorges and valleys until reaching San Sebastian. (Walk: 6 hours; + 200 mts, – 1000 mts)

Day 7 – Las Cañadas del Teide (Tenerife): Early in the morning we take the boat to Tenerife and drop the baggage at the hotel. Transfer to the National Park surrounding the highest peak in Spain: the Teide volcano. Short but beautiful walk in the enormous caldera with unique vegetation. (Walk: 3 h 30 min; + 100 mts, – 100 mts). Transfer to the hotel. Dinner.

Day 8 – Departure: Transfer to the airport. Flight back.
