La Palma is certainly one of the most well-known islands by hikers. The huge Caldera de Taburiente with its pine forest, the most recent volcanoes of the Canary Islands, small beautiful villages and charming inhabitants are just some of the highlights during the week.

Program
Day 1 – Arrival: Welcoming at the airport. Transfer to the accommodation. Briefing. Dinner.
Day 2 – Marcos y Cordero: Marvelous walk alongside a water channel carved in the rock until reaching the spring of Marcos y Cordero. The descent takes us through the beautiful Laurisilva forest of Los Tilos. (5 hours walk; + 100, – 1000 mts)
Day 3 – Volcano crossing: After a visit to the only Tabaco farm on the island we start the hike at El Pilar from where we head south crossing the islands crest scattered by volcanic craters and Pine forests. (6 hours walk; + 800, – 1350 mts)
Day 4 – Caldera de Taburiente: Unforgettable walk in the National Park Calder de Taburiente. After a transfer to Los Brecitos we follow a narrow path alongside the slope of the caldera enjoying great views. We descend to the camping in the heart of the National Park and follow the gorge “Barranco de Las Angustias” towards the exit of the park. (5 hours walk; + 100, – 900 mts)
Day 5 – Teneguia Volcano: From Fuencaliente in the south of La Palma we visit the visitors center “Los Volcanes” before start exploring the two volcanoes nearby: San Antonio and Teneguia, the youngest volcano of the Canaries. Our walk takes us down to the lighthouse at the coast and after a refreshing swim we visit the salt farm of Fuencaliente. (3 hours walk; + 200 mts, – 500 mts)
Day 6 – Santa Cruz: today we take a break and visit the charming capital of La Palma. Santa Cruz features a beautiful old town with remarkable balconies. Also we are going to visit a typical market, or in Santa Cruz or in Mazo.
Day 7 – Roque de Los Muchachos: We drive to the highest point of the island. The Roque de Los Muchachos, at 2426 mts is the starting point of a long descent to the Pico de Las Nieves. Walking on the crest of the Caldera de Taburiente is a unforgettable experience with exhilarating views. (5 hours walk; + 560 mts, – 1500 mts)
Day 8 – Departure: Transfer to the airport. Flight back.
