Carnival in Lanzarote

From End of February to March Carnival takes place in the Canary Islands. All cities and villages celebrate this event over several days, also on Lanzarote – with Arrecife as the most important one.

Over months citizens prepare their costumes and gather to rehearse with their band or “murga” to be prepared for this popular event. Ambiance is very joyful and relaxed, people are friendly with a constant smile on their painted faces, proud of their costumes and hertiage.
